Flaky Scalp

My hair is in its natural state.  It is washed about once per week with Beauty Water and shampoo.  No oil, grease nor gel is added to my hair nor scalp.  Recently, I noticed flakes falling from my scalp after combing the hair.  I started taking one table of first cold press extra virgin olive daily.  That is the solution to my problem.  In less than a week, those flakes stopped falling.

I'm enjoying the freedom of having natural hair without my pillows having grease stains or marks.  Shampooing once per week and drinking one table spoon of olive oil has been my solution.

Grooming and loosing Sisterlocks

Be careful who you allow to groom your Sisterlocks.  I had a trainee groom my Sisterlocks and it resulted in damaging the integrity of many locks.  During the process, one lock was sliced off and placed in my hand.  When I got up to use the rest room, I found another lock on the floor.  With in two weeks of grooming my locks that were four years and nine months old, I had to cut them off.  Finger combing the locks became too much of a task for them to endure.  The base of the locks were cut during the process and they were coming off.  It was a hard and painful decision.  After spending time and money, I was rapidly loosing my locks in front of my eyes.

Later found out, I was the first grooming she had done alone.  As per her, she was told by the master trainer that grooming results in loosing locks.  She attempted to rejoin one of the locks but was unsuccessful.  I paid the price for her in experience.

Having Sisterlocks is an investment of time and money.  Interview your trainee well before having your services done by him or her.

Soap Making Class, Brooklyn, NY 11237

My hair locks and I love glycerin shampoo bars.  I have tried cold pressed bars; but, they do not rinse out clearly from my locked hair.  My locks look dull after the use of a cold press shampoo bar.  I have been looking around to take a class in New York City for several months.  Finally, I found an offer on a social media site that I could not resist.  Well, it sounds too good to be true.  I went ahead and made the purchase, then scheduled my class.  The advertisement promised a four hour class, snacks, supplies and beverage.  My class had five students and concluded in about two hours.  No snacks were offered; however, we were offered a beverage.

We were asked not to takes notes; but, given the promised that the recipe will be emailed.  I took a total of three classes and received one recipe.  I called, texted and email, nothing helps.  I have been given excuses that are as follows:

  1. The assistance comes in on Tuesdays; and, she will email the recipe.
  2. The recipe is in PDF form which cannot be sent via the iPhone.
  3. The computer crashed and was sent for repair.
  4. Told to check my spam mail.
  5. Asked to hold on for a long time, then the instructor does not pick up my call.
  6. Given the offer of buying the soap from the business as opposed to making it on my own.
  7. Told that the instructor was teaching out of town which caused a delay in sending out the recipe.
  8. The excuses goes on and on ...........
Was it too good to be true?  The class cost $79 and other classes cost $125, $135 or $155.  I spent a total of $339 in tuition, plus the cost of soap supplies.  Was the lesson really worth it?  I emailed and texted the business asking if they sell the recipe without a response.

Glycerin shampoo bars makes my life easier.  I prefer them more than liquid shampoo.  It is easier to take through the airport or to the gym.  If you want to know more about my experience dial 347.743.1007.  Thank you!
